Hello!

I’m Taylor Pope, welcome to my studio! After graduating with a B.F.A. in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design, I started my graphic design career at Abercrombie & Fitch. From there I moved on to work for some incredible companies including American Eagle, SCAD, and Carter’s, Inc. The best part? The insanely talented artists I have had the privilege to work with and call friends along the way (Bologna Facers and DFB’s, you know who you are).

My experience in the corporate world of graphic design taught me more than I could have ever imagined - from learning to use every digital platform for the creation of art to changing the hand of each package to fit in with trend. You learn to be 50 different artists in one, work faster than you thought possible, and never settle for anything less than the best. It’s a special kind of crazy, but I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

BUT after 15 years in the industry, it was time to move forward. I went down a year-long rabbit hole chasing a dream of living on a farm in Virginia. The thought of space! Fresh air! Creating more of my own art! My dog being no more than two feet away from me at all times! WOW! So, I went for it. Very scary, but absolutely life-changing.

I have always loved creating and playing with a range of materials to bring my ideas to life. Light-Heart Studio focuses on traditional media and working by hand - specializing in ink and watercolor and colored pencil illustrations, while also dabbling in a bit of acrylic and textural fun. With a slightly unhealthy obsession with detail and a love for bringing new ideas to life, I create art that makes me happy, and I hope does the same for others. I am so excited to share that artwork with you here, at Light-Heart Studio.

Thank you for visiting!
